Distinguished Educator Award - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO mAY 1ST

The Distinguished Educator Award is given annually to a member of the MC&S division whose personal teaching excellence and influence on pedagogy in the field is profound. In addition to being honored at the division business meeting at the national convention, the Distinguished Educator also makes a formal presentation on teaching during the division's annual Promising Professors and Distinguished Educator Panel. The Distinguished Educator for 2010 was Dennis Davis, Pennsylvania State University.
If you know a faculty member who has served as a mentor and role model for your teaching, please consider nominating her/him for this prestigious award.

Details and How to Nominate

Send nominations for the MC&S Division's highest teaching honor, the Distinguished Educator Award to Jensen.Moore@mail.wvu.edu by 11:59 P.M. (Central Daylight Time) Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Nominations should consist of the main letter of nomination and the nominee's curriculum vita. Nominations may also include additional letters of support. All nomination material should be submitted electronically. No hard copies will be accepted.

Additional Information

For 2011, the winner will be selected by the division head, vice-head, teaching chair, and graduate student liaison and recognized at the division business meeting at the national conference in St. Louis. This recognition includes the presentation of a plaque by the teaching chair, as well as a monetary award this year of $500. The winner will also be listed on the division website. To facilitate preparation for the Promising Professors and Distinguished Educator Panel, the winner will be notified of the honor by May 31, 2011.
