Peer Review Process

In order to ensure optimum objectivity in evaluating the methodological rigor and theoretical contribution of a manuscript to the scope of JPRR, we facilitate a double-blind peer review process. This means that the author is not able to know who evaluated her/his manuscript, and the reviewers are not able to know the author(s) of a manuscript.

Blind Review

To facilitate anonymous review, only the article title should appear on the first page of the manuscript. An attached cover page must contain the manuscript title, authorship, professional titles, mailing addresses, email addresses of all authors, and any statements of credit or research support. Every effort should be made by the authors to see that the manuscript itself contains no clues to their identities.

Permissions

Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission from copyright owners to reprint or adapt a table or figure or to reprint a quotation of 500 words or more. Authors should write to original author(s) and publisher to request nonexclusive world rights in all languages to use the material in the article and in future editions. Provide copies of all permissions and credit lines obtained.

Regulations

In a cover letter, authors should state that the findings reported in the manuscript are original, contribute to the broad body of knowledge in public relations, and have not been published previously and that the manuscript is not being simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Authors should also state that they have complied with American Psychological Association ethical standards in the treatment of their samples.

Accepted Manuscripts and Computer Disks

After manuscripts are accepted, authors are asked to (a) submit a disk containing two files (word-processor and ASCII versions of the manuscript), (b) make sure the content of the files exactly matches that of the printed, accepted, finalized manuscript (provide revised printout if necessary), (c) submit camera-ready figures, and (d) sign and return copyright-transfer agreement. If is the responsibility of the contact author to ascertain that all coauthors approve of the accepted manuscript and concur with its publication in the journal.

Production Notes

Files of accepted manuscripts are copyedited and typeset into page proofs. Authors read proofs to correct errors and answer editors’ queries. Authors may order reprints of their articles when they receive page proofs.
